Cancellation Policy
Last updated:
VetSimple is committed to fair and transparent shift management. This Cancellation Policy sets out the expectations for Professionals and Clinics when a confirmed shift cannot proceed as planned.
Cancellations by Professionals
We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel a confirmed shift, please do so as early as possible through your VetSimple account. Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled shift start time will not affect your standing on the Platform. Cancellations made between 24 and 72 hours before the shift start time will be noted on your profile. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the shift start time are considered late cancellations and may affect your visibility in future shift matching. Repeated late cancellations may result in account review.
Cancellations by Clinics
Clinics that cancel a confirmed shift must notify the Professional through the Platform as soon as possible. Clinics that cancel a shift less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time are expected to offer a cancellation fee to the Professional equal to a minimum of two hours at the agreed shift rate, unless the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond the Clinic's reasonable control (such as a declared emergency or natural disaster). VetSimple reserves the right to review Clinics with a pattern of late cancellations.
No-Shows
A no-show occurs when a Professional or Clinic fails to appear for a confirmed shift without prior notice. No-shows by Professionals will result in immediate account review and may lead to suspension. No-shows by Clinics will result in the Professional being entitled to a minimum of four hours' pay at the agreed rate, and the Clinic's account will be reviewed.
Disputes
If a dispute arises regarding a cancellation or no-show, either party may contact VetSimple at [email protected] within 5 business days of the scheduled shift date. We will review the circumstances and may facilitate a resolution, but we are not obligated to adjudicate disputes between Professionals and Clinics.
Force Majeure
Neither party will be held in breach of this Policy for cancellations caused by events outside their reasonable control, including severe weather, public health emergencies, or government-mandated closures. Such cancellations should be communicated through the Platform as soon as practicable.
Changes to This Policy
VetSimple may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time. Registered users will be notified of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
