VetSimple is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.

VetSimple is responsible for personal information under its control. Our Privacy Officer can be reached at [email protected]. We have implemented policies and practices to give effect to PIPEDA's principles, including procedures for handling complaints and inquiries.
2. Identifying Purposes
We collect personal information for the following purposes: to create and manage your account; to verify your professional licence with the CVO or OAVT; to match Professionals with Clinic shift opportunities; to facilitate communications between Professionals and Clinics; to improve the Platform; and to comply with legal obligations. We identify the purpose before or at the time of collection.
3. Consent
We obtain your consent to collect, use, and disclose personal information, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. By creating an account, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us at [email protected]. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide services to you.
4. Limiting Collection
We collect only the personal information necessary for the purposes identified. This includes your name, email address, professional licence number, practice preferences, and communications on the Platform. We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is required for licence verification and platform operation.
5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
We use and disclose personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, except with your consent or as required by law. We share your professional profile information (name, licence status, shift preferences) with Clinics for the purpose of matching. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the identified purposes or as required by law.
6. Accuracy
We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date. You are responsible for keeping your account information current. You may update your information at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
7. Safeguards
We protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed password storage, access controls, and regular security reviews. We require third-party service providers who handle personal information on our behalf to maintain comparable safeguards.
8. Openness
We make information about our privacy policies and practices available to you. This Privacy Policy is posted on our website and updated when our practices change. You may request additional information about our privacy practices by contacting our Privacy Officer.
9. Individual Access
Upon written request, we will inform you of the existence, use, and disclosure of your personal information and give you access to it.
